Where to stay in Frankfurt
The Altstadt is the historic centre around the Römerberg square, with reconstructed timber-framed houses, St. Paul's Church, and several museums. Sachsenhausen, located on the south side of the Main River, offers a lively atmosphere, culinary delights, and features various museums, a waterfront park, and a promenade with striking city views. The Brückenviertel is a small area of Sachsenhausen near the Main bridges, with cafés and traditional apple wine pubs.
Why visit
The Main Tower, completed in 1999, is a glass-facade high-rise on the Frankfurt skyline. At 200 meters high, it has a public observation deck, and with its antenna it reaches 240 meters. The city is also a major financial hub: the European Central Bank, the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, and the headquarters of numerous financial institutions are concentrated here, creating a distinctive skyline nicknamed "Mainhattan."
